Our client is a well-established furniture retail brand known for offering high-quality, customizable indoor and outdoor furniture for decades. With a global footprint, their products are known for ergonomic designs, superior craftsmanship, and a seamless blend of style and comfort.
Despite their high-quality products, the client was facing high product return rates and low online engagement, primarily due to a lack of realistic product visualization. They approached us to create 3D-rendered images with white backgrounds, along with lifestyle images that present their furniture in realistic settings from multiple angles. Additionally, they required web-optimized, interactive 360-degree product views for seamless accessibility across desktop and mobile devices.
Each product image needed to adhere to strict technical specifications, making this project particularly demanding. The client provided detailed guidelines covering every aspect of photography – from precise camera angles and focal lengths to specific f-stops and camera perspectives. They wanted to showcase the furniture in realistic settings, such as positioning a rattan weave sofa in a meticulously designed patio environment that perfectly complemented the product while maintaining technical accuracy.
The volume of deliverables per batch presented a significant challenge. For each SKU, we needed to produce a comprehensive set of ten distinct visualizations: five different angle shots with white backgrounds, three detailed close-up renders, two lifestyle images, and three scale reference shots featuring human figures. This required careful planning and execution to maintain consistency across all images while meeting each specific requirement.
Each piece of furniture required extremely detailed texturing and modeling, particularly for close-up shots where even the smallest imperfections would be visible. From the subtle variations in wood grain to the intricate patterns in fabric weaves, every detail needs to be matched with the physical product perfectly.
To create realistic lifestyle images for each furniture piece, modeling and texturing of numerous supporting elements were required based on inspiration images. This involved creating appropriate environmental lighting setups and ensuring all elements worked together harmoniously to create a photorealistic product lifestyle render.
We began by understanding and adhering to the client’s requirements related to camera angles, perspectives, and focal length for 3D model image renders. The client provided us with high-quality photographs taken in optimal lighting conditions to ensure that every detail was clearly visible, which we used as a blueprint to recreate 3D renders accurately.
Our photo editing experts integrated 3ds Max, Maya, and Blender for core modeling, while Adobe Substance Painter and Photoshop were utilized for advanced texturing. This combination allowed us to create custom materials and textures from scratch by leveraging procedural materials and carefully curated asset libraries to achieve realism in the product models.
We established a streamlined production system to deliver a comprehensive visualization batch for each SKU. For every furniture piece, we rendered:
We developed web-optimized GLB files that enabled 360-degree product visualization. These GLB models were specifically engineered to maintain high visual fidelity while ensuring smooth performance (60fps) across all devices. The implementation supported rich textures and materials while keeping file sizes optimized for quick loading in web browsers.
For lifestyle renders, we developed a sophisticated asset library of environmental elements and settings. This approach involved creating multiple reusable 3D assets that could be mixed and matched across different product visualizations. We paid high attention to lighting, shadows, material properties, and spatial arrangements to accurately represent every minute detail.
The client was highly satisfied with our 3D product modeling services. The 3D renders created by our team surpassed their quality benchmarks and expectations. By implementing high-quality 3D furniture models and web-optimized assets, we helped the client achieve measurable business outcomes, such as:
The consistency in 3D assets and lifestyle image renders led to higher customer interaction
Within the first three months, the high-end product listings helped drive a noticeable boost in purchases.
